Hi! I'm Anne Hopewell Graner.  I'm a documentary filmmaker, videographer, free-spirited dancer, and occasional hula-hooper.  By the age of twelve, I lived in Africa, England, and the USA and experienced the everyday joys and struggles of diverse people. This exposure, plus the early death of my father, inspired me to capture people's stories through video.

How I wished I had filmed my dad sharing his life's experiences before he died of cancer!  I cherish the few video clips we have of him.  My dad is actually the inspiration for the name of my film company, Snow Picnic Films.  When we were kids living north of New York City, Dad took us to Bear Mountain for  picnics in the snow.  Hot chocolate and peanut butter sandwiches never tasted so good!  Both he and my mom influenced me with their creative passion for life and openness and respect for others.

My past careers continue to shape my filmmaking.  Who knew that being a school teacher, library media specialist, expressive movement and yoga dance teacher, professional development and volunteer trainer would lead the way to this path of documenting stories with compassion, skill, and humor?
